The Mission Inn is a beautiful and historic property that offers a unique and enchanting atmosphere, perfect for a memorable getaway. While the architecture and ambiance are truly breathtaking, I experienced some noise issues that detracted slightly from my stay. The dining options were excellent, with delicious food to enjoy, but there was some loud entertainment that disrupted the serenity. Overall, it's a wonderful place to visit, especially during the magical Christmas light display.

Our 'Raincross' room was spacious and well-equipped, featuring a nice bathroom, refrigerator, and safe. However, noise from above was noticeable due to the wooden floors.
Service

The staff was attentive upon check-in and there was a nice upgrade provided, but the noise from nearby activities, like garbage removal and events, interrupted the overall experience.

The hotel's central location in Riverside allowed for easy access to local attractions, although the area itself didn’t offer much excitement beyond the hotel.

The hotel boasts beautiful courtyards and a full-service spa that many guests rave about, offering relaxing experiences, although I didn’t indulge this time.

While the historic charm of the property is undeniable, my stay was marked by some significant issues. The unique architecture and beautiful decor captivated me, but there were several signs of neglect throughout the hotel, particularly with cleanliness. Some service elements were pleasant, yet inconsistencies overshadowed overall satisfaction. This property could become a top-notch destination, but it needs a deeper commitment to maintenance and guest experience.

Rooms
6.0
The room I stayed in was spacious, but it lacked some basic amenities such as a microwave and refrigerator. The bathroom could definitely use an upgrade, and the shower was temperamental during my stay.
Service
6.0
Service was a mixed bag; while some staff members were courteous and professional, others showed a lack of care. The restaurant staff could use more training in guest communication.
Location
5.0
The location has potential, but the surrounding area felt a bit run down, with several businesses closed during my visit. It wasn't the most inviting environment.
Dining
6.0
Dining options at the hotel were decent, but the breakfast and brunch offerings were lacking in variety. I expected more given the hotel’s reputation.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities like the pool were not well maintained during my visit, leading to a disappointing experience. Improvements are definitely needed.

The Mission Inn Hotel is a stunningly beautiful property with rich historical charm that creates a unique atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, especially the amazing architecture and the festive ambiance. However, my experience was marred by some service flaws and noise issues during peak times, which made relaxation difficult. The dining options were quite good, but the pricing could certainly be improved.

My stay at the Mission Inn during the Festival of Lights was a mix of magic and frustration. The beautiful historic property and the charming lights display added enchantment to my experience. However, the room had significant issues, including a shower curtain that offered no privacy and overwhelming noise from the street. While the dining options were delightful, the service left a lot to be desired, particularly in regards to staffing shortages. Overall, it had its pros, but there were notable cons that made the experience less than ideal.

Rooms
5.0
The room was of adequate size but lacked privacy due to a short shower curtain, which detracted significantly from the experience. I also faced a horrendous smell from a nearby tour bus.
Service
6.0
Service had its moments, with some staff being excellent, but the overall experience was marred by understaffing in the restaurants and long delays in key handling.
Location
8.0
The hotel is centrally located, which allows for easy access to local attractions, but be cautious of street noise if your room faces the main road.
Dining
7.0
Dining was enjoyable, especially at the sushi bar, but reservations were necessary for some restaurants. It would have been great to have more casual options available.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were a mixed bag; while the grounds and courtyards are beautiful, there were issues like excessive chlorine in the jacuzzi and a leaky roof that detracted from the stay.

My experience at the Mission Inn was a mix of enchanting moments and disappointing service. The architecture was stunning, especially during the Festival of Lights, and my room had a unique charm, but I faced issues with cleanliness and the value for money could have been better. The dining options were enjoyable, but the lack of complimentary coffee and high prices for convenience felt a bit off. Overall, the ambiance and stunning decorations made up for some flaws, but it's clear that there were significant areas needing improvement.

Rooms
6.0
My room was unique and nicely appointed, but it unfortunately had a lingering odor and was not as clean as I would expect for the price.
Service
5.0
While some staff members were accommodating, the overall service felt inconsistent and at times dismissive of my concerns.
Location
9.0
The hotel is beautifully located and truly shines during events like the Festival of Lights, making it a picturesque spot for gatherings and photography.
Dining
7.0
I enjoyed the dining options, though I felt the prices were a bit steep considering it was just an a la carte setup.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities, including the spa, were great, although the absence of complimentary coffee in common areas was disappointing.
